Aims

The Royal Marines Warrant Officer Leadership Development Course (WLDC) provides the necessary training required to allow pre-promotion WO2 aspirants to gain the correct knowledge, skills and attributes to undertake their role as Warrant Officers within the Royal Marines. This is done through a mixture of theoretical and practical training with a combination of formative and summative assessments. Student must complete all serials of the course program to pass this course.

Course Details

  • Military Knowledge. Students will be assessed on their Military Knowledge by their performance on the Amphibious Landing Exercise (ALX).
  • Management and Administration. Students will be assessed on their individual management of company administration, orderly room procedures and the practical application of Service Law.
  • Communication Skills. . Students will be assessed on their communication abilities by an individual brief and completing a written Company Move Order exercise.
  • RM Values. Students will be assessed throughout the course on their personal approach to leadership, management, coaching and mentoring, including their application of the RM values and spirit.
  • Leadership and Ethics. Students will be involved in group discussions and debate using generate case studies and experiences.

  • Age: No minimum age. Must adhere to entry standards
  • Rank: OR7/8
  • Working Knowledge of Defence Writing
