Aim

Mandatory PJT for all RN officers and ratings during period of notice for seagoing appointment or draft.

Course details

Topics covered include:

  • Firefighting organisation, Firefighting systems and equipment (1 day)
  • Practical Firefighting (1.5 days)
  • Sea Survival theory and practical drills (1 day)
  • CBRN Protection, collective and Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) and CBRN Drills (0.5 day)
  • Practical damage repair (0.5 day)

Requirements

  • Basic New Entry training
  • Basic Sea Safety Course standard
  • Sea going experience

Qualifications gained

  •  MCA Certificates in ‘Personal Survival Techniques’ and ‘Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting’

NOTES:

Course includes practical CBRN drills in CS gas environment, practical firefighting,
damage repair and sea survival.
