How it works

The highest calibre year 13 (England and Wales), year 14 (NI) and S6 (Scotland) students, with the appropriate academic background can enter the Royal Navy under the University Cadetship Entry scheme. They will conduct Initial Officer Training at Britannia Royal Naval College before completing their approved Bachelors degree at university while getting paid an appropriate salary and having tuition fees paid throughout.

What you'll need

  • Five GCSEs or Nat 5s at minimum grade 7/A. This must include Maths and English Language 
  • 144 UCAS points, with at least 80 in maths and an engineering-based science 
  • Ready to study of an approved Bachelors degree course at a UK university. Some approved subjects include Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, and Robotic Engineering
  • A strong pass in the Admiralty Interview Board
